If someone is already scheduled in the planning but requests partial time off, you don’t need to reject the entire work shift.
👉 You can split the shift, so only the overlapping part is removed.
This allows an employee to take leave and still work part of the day the best of both worlds!
How do you work as chef/admin?
Go to 'Planning' - 'Absences & Availability'.
Add a new absence via:
3. Select the correct date, employee name, type of leave/absence and use the “Custom” option to specify the number of hours of absence + the time range (start–finish) of the unavailability.
4. You will receive a pop-up if you want to split the worktime or cancel it.
⚠️ Important:
If this pop-up doesn’t appear, it means the “Split worktime” option is not yet available to you.
👉 Please contact our support team we’ll activate it for you.
In this case, if you tick split, this would register two hours’ absence plus a new worktime from 13:00 until 15:00.
If you click cancel, the entire shift you planned will be cancelled.
After ticking the box, click “Apply” to complete the action.
In the schedule, this action translates as one approved and one rejected worktime and the effective absence is also visible in your planning.
2. What if an employ asks for leave when they are already planned in?
Leave is still requested in the same way. The most important thing is that employees request leave or an absence via Custom.
Enter the number of hours for the vacation or absence
Indicate the hours between which they will be unavailable (this is the “time range”)
Click “Add”
After the leave has been requested, you, as the admin/chef, can approve or reject this.
Click on the request and then click “Reject absence” (red) or “Approve absence” (green).
You will then still get the opportunity to split or cancel the worktime, just like when you register the leave yourself.
The user has requested multiple absences? Please read this guide.
You will receive the same notification to split or cancel the worktime.
