Not clocking breaks? No worries! 😌

If your employees don’t clock their breaks, but breaks still need to be added to their worked hours, we’ve got some handy options for you.

⚠️ Please note: breaks in Strobbo are always unpaid ⏳ and do not count as worked time.

Heads up: You can’t set these options yourself just send a message to our Support team and they’ll set it up for you! 📩

1. Take breaks from the planning 🗓️

If breaks are already planned in the schedule, this option automatically adds the breaks to the clock-in/clock-out records. Super easy! 🙌

(More details below)

2. Automatic breaks via the time clock ⏰

Not all hours linked to the schedule? Or prefer not to register breaks via the schedule? No problem! You can have automatic breaks set up based on the rules in your employment contract.

How does it work?

  • You set a break duration, for example 30 minutes 🕒

  • The break starts after a certain number of hours worked ⏳

  • And you can set it per contract type (e.g., workers, students) 👷‍♂️🎓

Example:
For workers, a 30-minute break after 6 hours worked; for students, a 30-minute break after 4 hours worked.

Please note:

  • Breaks cannot be set per individual employee, only per contract type.

  • Employees can still clock their breaks themselves via the time clock.

If someone clocks less break time than the automatic setting, the system will top it up to the minimum break duration. If they clock more, the longer break counts.

Important to know:

  • If you manually adjust breaks in a time record, the system won’t overwrite it automatically.

  • Breaks are not tied to a specific time of day (e.g., between 1 PM and 2 PM). If you want that, employees need to clock in/out for their breaks themselves.

  • You can set something like: “1 hour break after 9 hours worked.”

Automatic breaks are processed overnight and will only appear in the overview the next day. 🌙📊
