This validation rule will check whether there is sufficient rest time between two shifts. This will only validate shifts across multiple days.

🛠️ How to set up the rule

  • Click on Management in the main menu.

  • Go to Settings.

  • Click on Planning Validation Rules.

  • In the top right, click the green “Add” button.

  • Select the desired rule, in this case “Minimum rest time between shifts”.

💡 How to fill in all fields correctly

Choose a title and description

  • Title:
Give the rule a clear, recognizable name, for example:
    “11h rest”

  • Description:
Add a short explanation describing why this rule is being set.
For example: “Minimum 11 hours of rest between 2 shifts”.

Select the correct statutes
Under the “Statutes” field, you’ll see a list of all available statutes within your organization.

  • By default, all statutes are selected.

  • Deselect the statutes to which this rule should not apply.
For example: if the rule only applies to full-time employees, deselect the others.

Enter the minimum rest time

Here, enter the number of hours that must be between two shifts (hh:mm).

⏱️ How to recognize a warning in the planning:

At the top of the planning, a yellow dot will appear in the bell icon (notifications).

Click on the bell to open the notification.

You will see a list of employees who do not comply with the set rule, including details about the violation (e.g., too few or too many scheduled hours).

💡 Tip: Click on the notification to quickly navigate to the relevant employee or error in the planning and make the necessary adjustments.
