This validation rule checks if a worktime is scheduled outside of a specific time window within a business.

🛠️ How to configure the rule

  1. Click on Management in the main menu.

  2. Go to Settings.

  3. Click on Planning Validation Rules.

  4. Click the green "Add" button in the top-right corner.

  5. Select the desired rule, in this case "Planned outside specific hours".

💡 How to correctly fill in all the fields

Choose a title and description

  1. Title:
Give the rule a recognizable name, for example:
    "Students not scheduled between 03:00 - 06:00"

  2. Description:
Add a short explanation describing why the rule has been set up.
For example:"Students are not allowed to work between 03:00 and 06:00."

Select the correct statutes
Under the "statutes" field, you’ll see a list of all available types in your organization.

  • By default, all types are selected.

  • Deselect the types for which this rule should not apply.
For example: if the rule only applies to students, deselect the other statutes.

Select the desired hours

  • Start time: The beginning of the time window in which worktimes must fall.

  • End time: The end of the time window in which worktimes must fall.

The start time must always be earlier than the end time.

Selecting a time after midnight
If the entered end time is earlier than the start time, the end time is considered to be after midnight.

For example, to create a rule that only allows worktimes between 22:00 and 03:00, use the following values Start time: 22:00 End time: 3:00.

Let's take the example from the screenshot above, employees will have a notification on their worktime when they are planned outside 08:00 - 22:00.
The employee starts working too early in this example.

⏱️ How to recognize a warning in the planning:

At the top of the planning, a yellow dot will appear in the bell icon (notifications).

Click on the bell to open the notification.

You will see a list of employees who do not comply with the set rule, including details about the violation (e.g., too few or too many scheduled hours).

💡 Tip: Click on the notification to quickly navigate to the relevant employee or error in the planning and make the necessary adjustments.
