This validation rule will check if a worktime overlaps with an absence. The overlapping absence must not be rejected.

🛠️ How to set up the rule

  • Click on Management in the main menu.

  • Go to Settings.

  • Click on Planning Validation Rules.

  • In the top-right corner, click the green “Add” button.

  • Select the desired rule, in this case “Scheduled during an absence”.

💡 How to fill in all fields correctly?

Choose a title and description

  • Title:
Give the rule a recognizable name, for example:
    “Scheduled during absence”

  • Description:
Add a short explanation of why this rule is being set.
    For example:
“Students may not be scheduled during their absences.”

Select the correct employment types
Under the “Employment Types” field, you’ll see a list of all available types within your organization.

  • By default, all types are selected.

  • Deselect the types that this rule should not apply to.
For example: if the rule only applies to flexi-job workers, uncheck the other types.

⏱️ How to recognize a warning in the planning:

At the top of the planning, a yellow dot will appear in the bell icon (notifications).

Click on the bell to open the notification.

You will see a list of employees who do not comply with the set rule, including details about the violation (e.g., too few or too many scheduled hours).

💡 Tip: Click on the notification to quickly navigate to the relevant employee or error in the planning and make the necessary adjustments.
